National Women in Science & Engineering Day: Our CEO Announced as Finalist at WISE Awards
We are pleased to share that our CEO, Julie Feest, has been nominated for a Women into Science and Engineering (WISE) Award in the Outreach and Engagement category.
Julie is passionate about supporting young people to excel in their STEM careers and her role within EDT involves building impactful relationships across our network of partners, educators and students to ensure that young people across the UK have equal access to exciting and engaging STEM experiences.
WISE is an initiative intended to highlight the career opportunities for girls and women in science and engineering professions. This initiative introduced National Women in Science and Engineering Day (17th January), which is an annual event dedicated to honouring the achievements of women and allies in STEM.
As an initiative, their mission is to:
- Inspire every girl to envision a future in STEM
- Empower all women to enter, remain and progress in their STEM careers
- Lead their network of organisations to facilitate collaboration and amplify best practice
- Share insight and knowledge to enable their partners to harness the benefits of diverse talent
- Create a sense of belonging for everyone in STEM
Julie is delighted and honoured to be nominated for the Outreach and Engagement WISE Award. She said, “This is never just an award nomination for myself, but recognition and celebration of all the people I work with, including the EDT Board, our King's Ambassadors for Industrial Cadets and all of our partners and educators who help us to serve our young people.”
The 2025 WISE Award winners will be announced on Thursday 20th February. All the best Julie! 🎉
